Currently teaching in the middle school at home and abroad about materials in the field of comprehensive art research is still relatively small. This paper is just on the application of materials in junior high school art teaching do preliminary research and discussion. Junior high school art teaching material use, need to understand the feasibility of the material, the material in art creation utilization method and the difficulty of control to have certain ability and created works of art have vitality key lies in understanding and selection of materials. This paper studies the concept of material, the classification, properties, and the development of the materials in the history of the development of the materials.. The use of the material in the middle school students is not clear, in the middle school art teaching for students to understand the characteristics of the material is very important.
