The reforming of quality-oriented education is always people’s urgent concern and the music education in primary schools has drawn much attention from music teachers. Studying and researching the music education in primary schools are instructive and meaningful. Suzhou city, a county-level city, which is dominated by its agricultural population. The present music education in primary schools in Suzhou city deserves our concern and worrying comparing with those in other cities. The author of this paper is a Suzhou native and find some problems from my music teaching practice. This paper chooses different primary schools and mainly adopts questionnaire studying method to do some research. This paper mainly focuses on the present music education in these primary schools (including their teaching concepts, construction of teaching staff, teaching management and students’music quality). Based on my studying results, this paper finds and analyzes some problems in music education in primary schools, and then put forward some suggestions. This paper attempts to throw light on these problems and achieve something meaning in music education in primary schools in Suzhou city.
