Language intuition,a integration of learners’knowledge, sense and emotions, isthe most essential part in language learning. In theory, language intuition can begradually cultivated through the practice of language use. It is well known that theenvironment play an essential role in the process of language acquisition, therefore, aproper language environment will foster a learner’s language intuition and improvelearners’ language intuition unconsciously. Studies of cognitive psychology havepresented that implicit learning refers to the process in which an individual acquiresthe complicated knowledge through environment stimuli unconsciously. As a result, introducing the implicit learning theory to guide English language learning will havepositive influence on the English language learners in the process of their languagelearning.Based on the implicit learning theory, the author designed related teachingexperiments and questionnaires on the subjects. This paper analyzes the definitions andcharacteristics of language intuition. The results of questionnaires have shown thatlearning environment is the significant factor which affects the cultivation of students’language intuition. A lot of language input and output can be creating languageenvironment for students’ language learning, so as to promote the formation oflanguage intuition. In teaching practice, this research is based on a one-term program carried out among90students in the second year in two parallel classes of Lin FenYang Guang High School. Under the guidance of the implicit learning theory, thesubjects in experimental group are conducted with English newspaper readinginstruction on the basis of traditional teaching, and the control group is instructed withthe traditional teaching. Marks and quantified scores for language intuition areachieved for those90participants during the semester. The results are as follows:(1). According to the results of this empirical experiment, we can find out that allthe students’ language intuition have been improved through one-term learning whichmeans the language intuition can be cultivated and promoted in the process oflanguage learning.(2). Students in experimental group got higher scores than that of in the controlgroup in language intuition test. The results indicate that the method of Englishnewspaper reading teaching is an effective way to enhance English language intuitionfor senior high school students.(3). Students in experimental group got higher scores than that of in the controlgroup in the final English examination. According to the results, we get to know thatthe English newspaper reading teaching under the guidance of implicit learning theorycan not only promote the English language intuition for students in senior high school, but also can facilitate their English grades. In conclusion, on the bases of the results of this empirical experiment, we candraw a conclusion that learning environment is the significant factor which affects thecultivation of students’ language intuition. Introducing the implicit learning theory toguide English language learning and increasing language input will benefit the Englishlanguage learners in the process of their language learning and promote the students’comprehensive linguistic competence.
