As defined by "wired", the magazine, new media is the communication that "goes from everyone to everyone". Although this definition is of ambiguity, it indeed reveals how enormously new media has changed our life. New media subverts the way of traditional communication and also breaks people’s cognition limitation from both time and space. New media has not been the exclusive instrument for journalism for a long time, it is now a favorable educational platform. As the new media’s communication ways are fragmented and nuclear-fissioned, and the content of new media is short and brief, it requires our education contents to adapt to it. Traditional ways of education nowadays may be inapplicable for the new media platform. We may say that people can rarely finish a lengthy article about science in neither subway nor a bus. Therefore, choosing an appropriate communication way is very important. The3D "micro animation" of education has some advantages, such as brief contents, variety in forms and powerful expression that make it fit in the ways of communication of new media.Consequently, by attempting to summarize the features of new media, this paper focuses to find out the appropriate way to design the3D animation so as to meet the needs held by new media. Compared with2D animation,3D animation not only saves cost, it also looks much more realistic, so it has more space for art presenting. Nevertheless,3D animation production asks for strict technological process, and it holds high requirements for devices. So how can we use the software like3ds max or Maya, with a generally configured computer, to get high quality animation? Combined with the author’s own experience, this paper puts forward some solutions.
