As is known to us all, our nation is aiming to accelerate the socialismmodernization construction and realize the great rejuvenation. Certainly, thedevelopment of rural areas is an important component during this process. Educationis the key factor of rural development. However, for our country, the regionalimbalance in economic development leads to unequal distribution of educationalresources. Especially in the Midwest rural areas, the number of teachers, the quality ofteaching and the reservation of education talents are left far behind compared with theeast coastal developed areas. This problem directly affects the development ofcountryside as well as the pace of the socialism modernization construction. Hence, ithas been a concerned issue by people of various circles that how to improve the levelof rural education currently. Our country has implemented the “Specially ContractedTeachers Scheme” since2006, which can not only provide timely supplements forrural primary and secondary teachers, but also promote equality and balance ofeducation. As an important part, the complement of gym teachers is of vitalsignificance in the whole plan.Henan is a province with large population and profound education. The“Specially Contracted Teachers Scheme” plays a crucial role in rural schools inHenan. It has made distinct effect since its first implement in2009. In particular, theresources of gym teachers make a great contribution for physical education incountryside in our province. There is no doubt that the scheme has achieved fruitfulresults, but at the same time, we should soberly understand that there still are severalproblems and deficiencies in this plan. This thesis conducts a survey about the currentsituation of the special-post gym teachers at rural areas in the city of Puyang. Duringthe process, I did the research by adopting the methods of document literature,surveys, interviews and statistics. After summarizing and analyzing the data, I candraw a conclusion from the following five aspects:1).With respect to the growing importance of sports disciplines, Puyang ruralprimary and secondary schools for PE teachers in special post still has a largedemand.2). Puyang rural sports special post teachers’ professional capacity has not been agood show, and not widely accepted by the people.3).Puyang City special post of PE teachers in rural areas for the current workloadmore recognized, but for wages, benefits and social status is not satisfied, they are not conducive to the stable development of teachers.4).Puyang City special post of PE teachers in rural areas fewer opportunities forcontinuing education, is not conducive to their professional ability and teachingphilosophy of updates.5).Puyang City special post PE teachers in rural areas in the overall capacity ofthe structure of the performance is good, but scientific research ability, organizationalskills, social skills need to be further strengthened.
