The AP calculus course first began to be implemented in senior high school in the1950s, with the purpose of exposing the senior high school student who have learningcapacity to university contents in advance, thus effectively alleviate the transitionproblem between senior high school mathematics curriculum and college course.Under the influence of AP courses, in the spring of2013"Chinese university advancedplacement" was born, making a new start of the educational reform in our country. Inthis context, this paper puts forward the idea that some senior high schools canintroduce university calculus course into school-based curriculum by using the APcourses for reference, in order to let a few outstanding students study calculus inadvance, and at the same time lay solid foundation for their subsequent learning anddevelopment.Since the AP calculus course in domestic universities is still in its infancy, there isa lack of in-depth research on the approaches to curriculum implementation, coursesyllabus, the teaching mode, and evaluation method (including sample questions). As aresult, this paper focuses on the topic in order to provide corresponding information, experience and conclusion for the colleague reference.By studying the reform trend of senior high school calculus curriculum and itsbackground from documents, this paper presents the idea of introducing universitycalculus course into school-based curriculum. A survey has been done among studentsand teachers by means of a questionnaire in order to collect some relevant information.Through expert interview,"Senior High School Calculus Syllabus" is drawn up, basedon the practice of the school-based curriculum. The paper researches on how to designa better teaching mode in line with the cognitive characteristics of senior high schoolstudents and gives ideas on the evaluation method. Studies have shown that three basic conditions are required to enable a senior highschool to offer the calculus course successfully. They are excellent students, excellentteachers and advanced educational philosophy. As a school-based curriculum, it musthave a syllabus with the characteristics of the school-based curriculum, as well as ateaching mode consistent with the characteristics of senior high school. This paperholds that in teaching this course, interactive teaching mode and the inquiry teachingmode are two suitable approaches, while in the way of evaluation, multi-evaluationshould be conducted from both the quantitative and qualitative aspects.
