The Chinese traditional virtue which has long history is the soul of Chinese traditionalculture. It includes the following contents: humanity spirit, self-critical spirit, integrity spirit,patriotic spirit, the spirit of self-denial devotion, the concept of no greed and unyielding spiritand so on. The Chinese traditional virtue inspires many people fight side by side who struggleand dedicate for the future of the whole country and people writes numerous praise songs,pushing forward the Chinese nation.This paper explores traditional virtue education of the college completely, which uses theliterature method, history method, comparative analysis method and so on. This article isdivided into four parts.The first part is the introduction. It discusses the significance and purpose of the research,especially focuses on the status, the thinking and the methods of the research, both at homeand abroad.The second part expounds the content and significance of traditional virtue education ofthe college, and analyzes the necessity of traditional virtue education from the lack oftraditional virtue of the contemporary college students and the challenge of globalization. Italso discusses the needs of the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics is toinherit and carry forward the Chinese traditional virtue. College students are the main force ofsocialist construction in the future. The college makes the students accept the system ofeffective traditional virtue education and help them establish right concept of life and value,which appear very important for their growth and improvement when stepping into society.The traditional virtue of the college students is getting more and more approval of the society,teachers and parents.The third part expounds the credit education, professional education and candidateeducation which are given priority in college curriculum, while the traditional virtueeducation is in the secondary position which has small weight in the aspect of teachingcurriculum and schedules. At the same time, the arrival of network times makes collegestudents receive all kinds of information variously and quickly, which impact the thinking ofcollege students in the aspect of consumerism and individualism and hedonism. With theglobalization of the society, it requires college students to improve their professional skillsand carry forward the traditional virtues of the nation, in other words, they must have a noblepersonality quality in the complicated social situation. The research status brings a new taskand promotes the research and reform for traditional virtue education in colleges and universities. The primary task of reforming is to define the nature and status of the traditionalvirtue education. The traditional virtue is the summarization of the excellent national quality,national integrity, noble ethnic feelings and good manners. The traditional virtue education isthe activity for the purpose to influence many students with organization, purpose and plan,with the main contents of traditional virtues of the nation. It defines and determines the maincontent of the traditional virtue education, so as to measure the transmission and developmentof the status in real life, with a focus on the absence of traditional virtue of contemporarycollege students, the weakening and challenging of traditional virtue education in colleges anduniversities under the background of globalization. And with analyzing the insufficient ofcourse quantity and old course content, we can take effective measures for the specificproblem.The fourth part, with the start of updating the education idea, summarize the measures ofstrengthening college traditional virtue education through optimizing the classroom teachingcontent and teaching method and enriching the campus cultural construction. Forstrengthening the countermeasure of traditional virtue education in colleges, we should updatethe concept of education, which is to elevate the ideological and moral cultivation to the sameweight of knowledge skills. To do this, first, we should instill students the concept oftraditional virtue education all the time, which educate them the thought throughout the periodof growth, making the college students in the growth process can enjoy a good traditionalvirtue education. Second, we should adhere to the whole education concept, that is, tosummarize the force of the family, school and society to develop traditional virtue education.Third, we should stick to the responsibility consciousness of the prospective of traditionalvirtue which appears to the value beyond the facts, the Sollen beyond the reality. It is theoutline of the development trend of the traditional virtue education, which make thetraditional virtue education more sense of direction. Fourth, we should establishpeople-oriented concept of modern moral education, strengthen the student main bodyconsciousness, respect for the needs of the development of students and give attention to thecultivation of students’ non-intelligence factors. After updating traditional virtue educationconcept, we need optimize classroom content and teaching methods in the process oftraditional virtue education, which is helpful for students to understand the traditional virtue,improve and master students’ personal qualities. At the same time we can rich campus culturelife, that is, put the traditional virtue education into the community activities and socialpractice activity and what’s more, with the campus network platform, we create a goodlearning environment for hesitating traditional virtue education.
