The classroom is a place for students to learn. It is the main channel of education. Inthe classroom, students tend to be obedient and behave well, because a strong focus oftraditional classroom management is classroom order. All the management methods aremostly based on teaching language knowledge and improving students’ academicperformance. In other words, implementing this kind of classroom management makes itdifficult to arouse the students’ interest in learning. It affects their enthusiasm to study, suppresses their emotional needs, ignores the potential for their language to develop aswell as hindering the development of their minds and personality. With the spread of ideasabout quality education and the deepening of curriculum reform, English classroommanagement in primary school has improved, but there are still many unsatisfactoryaspects. This research is based on English classroom management covertly stratifiedteaching theory and study achievements. It summarizes information collected from studentquestionnaires and teacher interviews in Kunshan Yufeng Experimental School andanalyzes the classroom management problems that exist in the teaching English in primaryschools. Examples include no full establishment of covertly stratified teaching, noclassroom innovation, lack of interest, lack of communication and cooperation, unfairnessto the students, lack of understanding of the students’ personality development, etc. On thebasis of this analysis, the article puts forward the English classroom managementconstruction mode. It involves management target, principles and strategies. Classroommanagement goal is adhering to the maintenance goal and developmental goal unity. Thebasic goals include target stratification, layered teaching, practice stratification and layeredevaluation. The basic principles of classroom management are pointing to the curriculumgoal, respecting students’ individuality, cultivating students’ autonomy, paying attention togenerative teaching and mobilizing the enthusiasm of the students. The basic strategies of classroom management are to strengthen theoretical basis, construct multi evaluation, carryout vivid teaching, pay attention to cooperative learning, face up to the differences ofstudents and implement a scaffolded approach. I hope it will provide a new theoreticalreference for the teachers and the current situation of primary school English classroommanagement will be improved.
