In recent years, the Chinese government attaches increasing important to the construction of vocational school teachers. An effective way to improve the professional self-development of the teachers is teaching team construction. The shared mental model is a recent study about the team building from a new angle, which serves as a clear illustration of the diversity of team performance. This study focuses on shared mental model which is used in the team construction of vocational schools.In this paper, some research methods are used such as literature analysis method, questionnaires and statistical analysis and so on. The questionnaires are designed based on four dimensions of shared mental model and the characteristics of teaching groups. The survey shows that that the teaching team building in vocational schools is far from perfect without the model. The author also expresses the propositions of build teaching team of vocational schools which are related to management systems, multiplatform communication, appointment of good team leader, team culture and aims.
