With the development of society and the progress of people’s beliefs, people’s spiritualneeds are becoming more and more obvious, so leisure education is drawing more and moreexperts’ attention. As schools are the main places of education, leisure education is also animportant part of school education. High school biology, as a science as well as a publiccourse, permeates the lives of everyone in our daily life, which makes it possible to penetrateleisure education in biology teaching. It definitely has irreplaceable advantages.By documentation on leisure education, this paper gives a brief introduction to thepresent situation and defines the concept of leisure education. Leisure education is oneeducational activity which is to promote and enrich people’s spiritual world. Through leisureeducation, educators teach people to spend their leisure time learning skills and sometechniques to make them establish scientific concept of leisure education and promote thedevelopment of their personality. In this way, they will become one disciplined, energetic andhappy citizen with lofty ideals, moral integrity and a good education.Through questionnaire method, this paper makes a survey on the following aspects: theamount of students’ leisure time, main way and places of their leisure activities, the maincauses that affect their personal leisure life and their attitude to leisure life. Throughquestionnaire and interview, this paper shows the present situation of biology teachers: thepresent situation of their leisure life, their consciousness of leisure, their understanding aboutthe resources of leisure education in biology teaching, the practice of penetrating leisureeducation in daily teaching, their attitude to penetrating leisure education in biology teachingand the limited factors that leisure education encounters in daily biology teaching. It alsomakes a research on the present situation and the existing problems of leisure education inbiology teaching. This paper is mainly divided into three parts. PartⅠis an analysis and aresearch on the target that leisure education should reach through the new curriculum standardof high school. Part II is about the ways to penetrate leisure education in high school biologyteaching, mainly by exploring textbooks, editing school courses and designing creativeassignment. This part mainly sums up and sorts out some teaching resources concerningleisure education in biology textbook published by People’s education press, and shows somesuccessful cases about creative assignment and the practice in editing school courses. Part Ⅲ is about some strategies to evaluate leisure education in senior middle school biologyteaching.This paper makes a research on the goals of penetrating leisure education in seniormiddle school biology teaching, development and utilization of curriculum resources andsome evaluation strategies, aiming to provide high school biology teachers with a platform todiscuss leisure education and its penetration in high school biology teaching.
