With leisure-time coming, the value and significance of leisureare increasingly being recognized. Leisure offered more choices for daily behavior,expanded people’s activity field and independent space, so it beneficial to people’sself-perfection and all-round development. However, the increase in leisure time is not equalto the realization of leisure. We conducted a questionnaire survey in7universities, they areShaanxi Normal University, Xi’an Jiao Tong University, Northwestern University, Xi’anElectronic and Science University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Chang’anUniversity, Xi’an University of Science And Technology. Based on the investigation we findthat a lot of students lack of reasonable understanding and correct attitude towards leisure,which mainly manifested as conceptual misunderstanding of leisure, disregarding of theleisure value, conformity of leisure attitude, lack of reasonable leisure-time planning andLess high leisure activities. These reasons effect students’ way of life and hinder theirself-development.The essence of education is that it is a cultivating persons’ social activity. The aim ofleisure education is to improve people’s leisure quality to meet and exceed the present leisurelife, to improve our quality of leisure life and promote physical and mental healthydevelopment and social harmony. The goal consistent with ideological and political education,both to cultivate all-round students. Based on this, we firstly defines the concept of LeisureEducation. And then discuss the necessity of focusing on Leisure Education from the visionof Ideological and political education. we analysis the present situation and causes of CollegeStudents’ leisure cognition and behavior to explore thoughts and Countermeasures forpromoting leisure education in university. Text consists of five parts: the first part is theintroduction, including background, significance, literature review and methods of theresearch. The second part is Exploring the Theoretical Source of leisure. The third part isrelationship between ideological and political education and leisure education. The fourthpart is Present Situation Investigation and Cause Analysis of College Students’ leisurecognition and behavior. The last part is in view of the existing problems discussing onthoughts and Countermeasures for promoting the implementation of leisure education.
