| Job burnout is considered to be a very important concept in Psychology, which is from descriptive study to empirical study. Relative measures have been put forward to lessen job burnout level, which has achieved a lot in the past few years.In recent years, because teachers’job burnout has not only affected their teaching and professional development but also students’ learning, it has been concerned by a lot of scholars, who mainly focus on the primary and high school teachers, and who seldom concern about the university teachers’ job burnout.Teachers’ professional concept was considered to be a stable factor in assessing the teachers’ teaching effect, which is also considered to be a factor to affect teachers’ job burnout level.So the study based on teachers’ professional self-concept investigated the status of both professional self-concept and job burnout, the relations between professional self-concept and job burnout of100college English teachers from8local colleges of Hubei Province, and it was found by investigation that the college English teachers in Hubei Province are of existence in job burnout to some extent, that the teachers with different title are significantly different in job burnout level, and among those teachers with different title, the job burnout level of teachers with lecturer title are the highest. It was found by interview that the job burnout of college English teachers is mainly from many factors which are working stress, scientific stress, teachers’ professional development, and teachers evaluation system, at the same time, it was also found by research that the level of job burnout is affected by six dimensions of teachers’ professional self-concept, so the study by use of quantitative and qualitative methods is to check out how the factors of professional self-concept affect the job burnout, so as to adopt some measures to prevent job burnout of the college English teachers. |
