This paper uses text analysis method to evaluate the118news about ChineseFemale in the New York Times from January1st,2008to December2013. Chinesescholars used to believe that the images of women reported by the New York Timesare miserable, namely they lost human right and they came from the countryside.However, this paper shows that the New York Times reported positive and negativeimages about Chinese female. Although many women are oppressive, most of themare from rural areas rather than urban areas. These Chinese women from the city’simage is no longer exclusively a "victim", they have won the gold medal in theOlympics female athletes, there is a successful career woman, but also full of feministand artistic charm of female painter. This phenomenon has a significant relationshipwith China’s economic development, cultural prosperity. Chinese women is no longerbound feet to serve her husband’s in silence, but they plays an irreplaceable role in thefamily and work in the entity.But at the same time, New York Times exists specific framework for Chinesewomen reported: praised or belittle women, while denounced the Chinese politicalsystem; for a similar female identity, different reporting style; positively reportingwomen who have overseas studying experience. This is related to the specific worldwealth, newsworthiness criteria and the stereotype of women.
