Nowadays, society put forward those requirements to the national:On the basis of scientifically understanding the population, resources, environment and the coordinated development of society, people can make sustainable development and form a civilized way of life and production.Students develop their’values in high school stage witch also puts forward new challenges to the middle school geography education. The new curriculum reform of basic education in our school is carrying out in full and it has been implemented in the national promotion. The geography quality of high school students have also gained social attention.In this article, guided by the new curriculum idea and the main research subjects, through literature analysis, chart analysis summing up the classification, the content of middle school geography knowledge of population structure, presenting methods.we concluded that high school population geography have four features. The knowledge points of middle school population geography are both involved in junior and high school. There are53points, of which those of high school are continuation and deepening to those of junior school; The idea of sustainable development is always throughout the Population Geography content; Increase the teaching materials to student-led activities which is leaded by "explore issues"; Pay attention to the students’ learning process and method. The set of population geography content is much more open and elasticity. Otherwise, according to the content of middle school geography population knowledge, the problem faced in our teaching and the middle school geography curriculum theory and curriculum standards (junior and senior).Especially for specific knowledge of high school geography population knowledge systems, six strategies of teaching the knowledge of school geography population are devised which combines population’s knowledge with ability. Those include case-based teaching strategies, teaching self-tutoring, cooperative inquiry method, chart analysis and field survey Through the study of this article, not only promote the integrity of the knowledge of population in our country’s middle school geography teaching but also advance quality education of middle school geography new era and new teaching reform. Finally it has appositive information to the promoting of ourselves teaching development.
