| The textbook of Selected readings of <Shiji>has been officially put into use since2005in Jiangsu Province. The overall goal of Selected readings of <Shiji> is toaccumulate, integrate, appreciate, think, understand, apply, innovate and create. Theconcrete goal of of Selected readings of <Shiji>is to cultivate students’ attitudes towardstraditional culture with the eyes of development and open mind, to enhance theirconsciousness and sense of responsibility of inheriting and developingChinese ancient culture, and appreciate ideological appeal and artistic charm of Chineseculture. This gives teachers the direction of carrying out Selected readings of <Shiji>whileteaching. It means Selected readings of <Shiji>is not only a classical Chinese teachingmaterial, but also a literature reading book. But the selective course teaching situation isnot optimistic.In the teaching process, the author finds teaching and learning cannot be combinedtogether and teaching requirement and objective cannot be achieved effectively and otherissues when teaching the Selected readings of <Shiji>. The main reasons of these problemsare that the options of the textbook are not appropriate, that teachers’ teaching ideas are outof date, teaching mode is improper; that teachers don’t fully understand the selectivecourse and textbook of Selected readings of <Shiji>s; that teachers can’t choose the betterteaching mode for selective course. What’s more, students learn classical Chinese is mainlyto cope with the investigation, students know little about the ways of Selected readings of<Shiji>, have no interests in it and so on. Based on the above problems, the author putforward her own opinions.The author suggests that before class, teachers should establish correct attitudestowards optional class and deeply know about optional subject and Selected readings of<Shiji>. In class, teacher should pay attention to the particularity of textbook of Selectedreadings of <Shiji>namely find the proper selective textbook and concern the “notesâ€, integrate the textbook and adopt proper teaching methods and rearrange the teaching orders.After class, teachers can create practical activities related to the textbook of Selectedreadings of <Shiji>namely presentation of accumulation writing materials, speeches,debates, role–plays, and so on, to improve the low efficiency status of selective course,and enhance the teaching effects of classical Chinese. |
