Abstract/Summary:
Textbook compilation, teaching, assessment and examination are based on the geography curriculum standards. The comparative study of different countries or regions’ geography curriculum standards becomes a hot spot, such as the contrast of Chinese and foreign developed countries’geography curriculum standards or the contrast of Chinese and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan’s geography curriculum standards. This paper is comparing Chinese geography curriculum standards for junior high school with Singapore’s. In order to find out the differences and the similarities between the two, this paper employs document law, comparative law and induction. At last, It is the summary of the main points, These enlightenments are as follows:1. In the geography curriculum provision, China should increase the total number of hours of junior high school geography course, The increasing geography course can be arranged at Junior Three.2. In the overall framework of geography curriculum, It is necessary to increase the geography teaching equipment requirements and suggestions for reference, can try to compose differentiated content standards.3. In the geography curriculum idea, Our country can appropriately increase to cultivate geographical character and the concept of their aptitude.4. In the geography course objective, China should highlight the corresponding geographic attitude and value target. At the same time, These words should be appropriate and highlights.5. In the geography curriculum content standards, China need to strengthen the links between the topics.6.
