The purpose of this paper is to find out the characteristics and relationship of positive emotion and interpersonal trust among college students who participated in basketball team training and non-team training. By doing so, it will be able to offer constructive guidance to coaches and student advisers for promoting college students’ harmonious interpersonal relationship and remaining their positive emotion while conducting basketball team training project. The result of this research comes from the investigation with a positive emotion questionnaire and an interpersonal trust questionnaire among300Xiamen college students who were under basketball training.This study indicates following conclusions.1. Generally speaking, the college students who participated in basketball training show better performance regarding positive emotion and interpersonal trust than those not attended basketball training.2. The comparing results of positive emotion and interpersonal trust among those college students who attended basketball team training are as following. The females students’positive and trust coefficient is higher than the male students’, no any discrepancy regarding local institution and notable difference in the view of grade and subject. Regarding positive emotion, freshman are far-gone than junior and senior. Sophomore are more optimistic by compared to senior. Regarding interpersonal relationship, freshman’s trust coefficient is much higher than sophomore and junior. Sophomore’s coefficient is higher than senior and similar to junior. Besides, it reveals arts&body students’positive and trust index is higher than science and liberal students’. The science students’index is higher than the liberal students’.3. The college students who participated in basketball team training show better performance regarding positive emotion and interpersonal trust than those attended basketball non-team training.4. There is a correlation between emotion and interpersonal trust of students who attended basketball team training. Positive emotion helps interpersonal trust performance, negative emotion blights interpersonal trust performance. Both general trust and special trust makes good effect on interpersonal trust.5. The Regression Analysis shows that positive emotion can apparently forecast interpersonal trust. More positive the person is, more easily his interpersonal trust can be increased. Interpersonal trust also has the same forecast affection on positive emotion.
