It has been a hundred years of accumulation since the implementation ofChina’s basic music education in the twentieth Century. In these hundred years ofhistory, music curriculum has today’s curriculum standards only after severalreforms. Education experts who continuously update the concept of education willeventually develop music appreciation course to a required course in basic education inChina. At the same time to become an important way of aesthetic education. Our governmentin the process of overall implementation of music education, made the concept of curriculum,standards, goals, contents, methods, evaluation and other requirements of music appreciationcourse in the middle school clear. With the implementation of music curriculum,musicteachers’ professional level demands are increasingly high. Music appreciation courseconcept with the core of music aesthetics, hobbies as a driving force, for all students, payattention to character development, through the music practice encourage creativity inmusic, advocate comprehensive discipline, carrying forward the national culture at the sametime to understand the multi culture, improving student evaluation mechanism. Musiccurriculum reform promotes the development of education, but also exposedmany problems, such as: the basic level of students is not balanced, step back before musicknowledge, single class evaluation, the improvement of teacher’s quality and so on. Facedwith these problems and how to better the music appreciation teaching, this paper willstart from four points. First of all, on how to improve the music teachers’ professionalquality, carries on the analysis from three aspects; the second is the analysis of how teachersinnovate in teaching, to build a teaching system which has music aesthetics as acore, hobbies as a driving force; thirdly, how to choose the songs which have appreciationvalue, can arouse aesthetic feeling as the music teaching content. Finally, analyze thecurrent high school music appreciation class status, find the problems and solutions. Thegoal of music appreciation courses is to better help students develop the appreciation of thebeauty of vision, to effectively enrich the spiritual world of life emotion, students’learning life and social life, to promote the students’ perception, emotion, imaginationand emotional aspects of healthy growth.
