In2012,the ministry of education issued professional development standards for primaryand middle school teachers’, and they put forward new requirements for the teachers’professional development. That is students are foremost, morality is the ifrst, ability isimportant and learning is life-long. As a teacher, we should not only have the correspondingprofessional knowledge, but also have the corresponding professional abilities and theprofessional philosophy and ethics.However, how to promote the professional development ofprimary and middle school teachers, especially rural primary school teachers? It has becomethe main question of this article. And what is the developing situation of teachers’ professionaldevelopment in Zhucheng? With this kind of doubt, the writer is trying to investigate andresearch the current situations in Zhucheng primary schools. This paper is mainly from thefollowing aspects:First, do investigation and research of the current situations in Zhucheng rural primaryschools,choosing20rural primary schools and32teachers. Do some research mainly fromthe basic situations and the professional development states of teachers positively. And dosome research from the students, parents and schools laterally. Through the investigation, Ican be sure of the present situation of the the professional development states of rural primaryschool teachers in Zhucheng.Next, ifnd out the main problem through analysising the questionnaire and interviewingdata, and analysis the reasons.Finally, propose proper improvement suggestions in order to improve the Englishteachers professional development and the teaching level of Zhucheng.
