Research And Implementation Of M-Learning System For Migrant Workers

The migrant workers are of limited vocational skills and less education, which are two of the major influences on them to keep employment stable and get further development in the city. And there are many problems in the training of migrant workers, such as difficulties of organization, high cost of training, lower utilization of resource, conflict of work and study. So how to use e-learning platforms to integrate high-quality resources, which is capable of providing high-quality educational resources and learning services for migrant workers, has been the research hot spots of migrant workers skills training.With the rapid development of mobile network technologies, m-learning provides new tools and methods for the skill-training of migrant workers. So organize and use the educational resources effectively and create m-learning platform for migrant workers, which can provide high-quality service for anytime and anywhere, will play a significant role for the vocational skill-training area. In view of the above backgrounds and problems, the paper’s main works are as follows:(1) Describing the theoretical and technical foundation of m-learning system for migrant workers’ training, and analyzing the current research, determining the paper’s research content, method, and basic idea.(2) Research on key issues in building m-learning system. Resource organization aspect: study resource classification standard theory and classification system, design resource organization strategy, and put forward principles of designing m-learning resources; Content adaptation aspect: First, study and compare the streaming media technologies, and then, use dynamic adaptive streaming technology to realize the streaming media playing on any mobile device. Second, study a variety of front-end technology, use responsive web design method to achieve system displaying adaptive on any mobile device.(3) Designing m-learning system. Based on the migrant workers’ characteristics and mobile equipment’s characteristics, analyze system’s needs and design the overall framework, resource, function module and database.(4) Implementation and application of m-learning system. Realize the various functional modules of m-learning system, and then test and apply it to prove the research that is effective and practical.The innovation of this paper are as follows:firstly, we propose the organizational strategy of m-learning resources and principles of designing with taking the consideration of migrant workers’ characteristics; secondly, we employ an inter-terminal method of content-based adaption to keep the element of system page in responsive design; finally, we enhance user experience by the means of dynamic adaptive multi-bitrate streaming media technology that contributes to implement video stream playing on users’terminal.
