The new Chinese curriculum standard, which is issued in 2001, clearly presented we should pay special attention to the characteristics of Chinese language for students to read and write, reading, writing, oral communication and thinking development impacts. The scientific word rationale is the most important feature of Chinese characters. The Chinese character rationale teaching is the method or mode that combine Chinese character culture and Chinese character knowledge into the Chinese teaching. It not only can help students to learn knowledge about Chinese characters can also help students to master the ability of autonomous learning. This study is based on the field survey, after accumulating survey material gradually, this study firstly represents the theoretical basis and significance of the Chinese character rationale teaching. Secondly, this study emphasis on the teaching mode of the Chinese character rationale teaching, it will be stated by two sides: how to learning Chinese characters and words by it’s rationale. How to learning Chinese words by it’s rationale is the innovation of this study. Although Chinese character rationale teaching has already have basic and complete guidelines, today’s teachers and students cognition and attitude to the Chinese character rationale teaching still have lots of problems and academic debate also existed. So it is necessary to put forward further effective reference opinions and suggestions to Chinese character rationale teaching.This study puts forward proposals from three aspects: country, social and personal. In a word, Chinese character rationale teaching is basis on inheriting the long-standing Chinese history and culture, and it combines this basis with modern teaching experience and scientific teaching formation and system. It can not only improve teaching efficiency,but also cultivate students self-learning abilities andhelp inheriting Chinese traditional culture among the teens. Therefore,the study of Chinese character rationale teaching has dual missions:the optimization of Chinese teaching and the inheritance of Chinese culture.
