This study examined National Basketball Association coaches’ time-out decision-making ateffect of on-the-spot decision for the game course and results The research object for the coaches decision comprehensive data 2004-2005 season to 2013-2014 season NBA finals,Data were collected from NBA official website in terms of play-to-play,The research results show that:1 Expression is in time, the second section and the fourth section coaches use time-out more frequently, especially when the lower half section of the game, the first section and the third section using time-out number far less than second section and the fourth section.2 The scoring efficiency of prior or after to time-out is significant difference,coaches’ scoring efficiency after time-out is higher than the prier ones.coaches decision-making can change the momentum of a game,in particular, coaches can use a time-out to change negative momentum of a game.3 The number of effectively time-out in single game winning team far more than single defeat theteam ’s,thenumberofeffectively time-outinthe champion team far more than the runner up team ’s,the on-the-spot decision effect of coaches can be used to evaluate single game time-outvalency represents the quality of decision utility of the matches.4 The difference of Single game time-outvalency between the team win single game or lose is obviously, Single game time-outvalency has a critical impact on the outcome of a single game.the difference of coaches decision coefficient between the champion team or the runner up team is obviously.coaches decision-making is a key factor to win the final champion.5 In the NBA finals,there was no significant difference between Single game time-outvalency and coaches coaching level.So was the home or away and the teams total compensation level.
