Important concepts in Biology are in the center of the subject, including understanding and interpretation of the basic phenomena, laws, theory of life, provide support to learn biology and related science. In the teaching of concepts in Biology, we should not only reveal the essence of concepts, but also conform to students’ accept ability.This research mainly studies how to build scaffolding instruction of important biological concepts in junior high school. The main contents of this research is the following:Sort out concepts of biology concept teaching, scaffolding instruction and both the domestic and foreign research.Classify scaffolding instruction of important biological concepts, divide it up into situational support, chart support, intuitional support, data support and problem support.Clear up the principles and process of building scaffolding instruction of important biological concepts. principles including the suitability principle, individuation principle, moderate principle, timeliness principle; process including analysis of the characteristics, contents and important concept in the analysis of students’ learning foundation and concept formation process, determine the opportunity to study present situation of stent type and study design to scaffold learning.Build up scaffolding instruction around important concepts in various forms.In a word, by this research, exploring a suit of principles and process of building scaffolding instruction of important biological concepts, refining a batch of scaffolding instruction, and serve as ’scaffolding’ to guide students’ learning.
