In recent years, "Informatization" is a word which have very high use frequency in every walk of life. Education informatization as an aspect of informatization, won the attention of many experts and scholars, has become the research hot spot. After decades of development, our education informatization has made great progress. Due to differences between different regions, urban and rural economic conditions, the development of education informatization in China is not balanced, especially education informatization level of rural small schools is far behind the urban areas. Currently, what is the status of rural small schools in formatization development? What is the advantages and shortcoming of it? Accordingly, the project group where the author has conducted the research to this problem.Based on many education informatization literature, the project team created to the estimate index in rural areas in Hubei province, later, hired experts put forward amendments to it. Combined with the expert opinions, modified the evaluation index, formed the questionnaire of education informationization development present situation of primary and secondary schools in Hubei province (small schools). Firstly, based on the results of the investigation, using factor analysis and AHP method to establish evaluation model of the rural small schools of development level of informatization. Factor analysis is the quantitative analysis, no one’s subjective factors; AHP is hire experts to rate the importance of the indicators, Contains both the qualitative analysis, and the quantitative analysis. AHP model is to test the model of factor analysis, make the factor analysis model more scientific. Secondly, analysis of current status of the development of urban small schools in Hubei province, and compare of informationization development present situation of the urban school schools. Mainly include two aspccts:(1) Current situation analysis. To assess the level of development of information technology in rural small schools in Hubei province based on the factor analysis model, and to ranking development level of small school informatization of every city in Hubei Province, by using clustering analysis to rank the urban area.(2) Comparative analysis. Compared the status of many indexes of various urban. Finally, using basic statistical analysis to analyze the status of informationization development of the urban school schools in Hubei province, find the problems that exist, and put forward suggestions.The study found that (1) informationization development level in rural small schools in Hubei province is not balanced. Higher development level city is Ezhou, and Wuhan, Huanggang,lower development level city is Xianning, Jingmen and Enshi.(2)Ezhou has highest score, is located in the forefront of the province; Suizhou informationization application level is the highest; the best city of security system is Huanggang. (3) In some areas, there has been a waste of resources phenomena, Suizhou information environment level is the first, but its level of application of information technology is at the middle level.
