Vocabulary is the element and the building materials of reading.Without vocabulary, reading will lose its significance. Lack of vocabulary,word is ambiguous, which may hamper students on English reading comprehension.Vocabulary teaching in senior reading class has adopted the traditional teaching method. Most teachers explains the new words in the textbook word list according to the key points in the exams, but think little about whether what they are teaching is real or authentic. Applying corpus-based booklet in the vocabulary teaching in English reading class can gather qualities of materials which are real, authentic, supplied with abundant situations and easy to be checked. Applying corpus-based booklet in the vocabulary teaching in English reading class can greatly improved reading teaching level in senior English reading teaching.How to help senior students master vocabulary effectively? Scientific vocabulary teaching method is quite important. In our present English basic education reform, a great number of new words emerge in English reading materials, so the key point in the English reading has been the increased vocabulary and how to correctly understand the vocabulary in the concrete situation. This paper analyzes the present situation in senior English reading vocabulary teaching class, and try to prove that applying corpus-based booklet in the vocabulary teaching in English reading class can achieve more efficient vocabulary teaching effect.This paper put forward the following hypotheses:Hypotheses 1:By applying corpus-based booklet in the vocabulary teaching in English reading class students can enrich their vocabulary.Hypotheses2:By applying corpus-based booklet in the vocabulary teaching in English reading class students can improve their reading ability.Subjects are two parallel classes in Baotou Mongolian Middle School.The author carried out pre-test which confirmed that two classes have no significant difference and then performed a questionnaire together with an interview investigation in the experimental class and the control class.Fromthe result of the questionnaire, we can see that most students adopted the rote learning method to remember new words while they rarely use scientific methods to remember new words. From the results of the interview, we can find that the traditional vocabulary teaching method hindered students’ effective vocabulary learning. And students are longing to be taught a more efficient and scientific vocabulary learning strategy.In the six months period, the researcher applying corpus-based booklet in the vocabulary teaching in English reading class in the experimental class,while in the control class, the traditional vocabulary teaching method is still used.The statistic results indicates that applying corpus-based booklet in the vocabulary teaching in English reading class is superior to the traditional vocabulary teaching method. By applying corpus-based booklet in the vocabulary teaching in English reading class students can master good study strategies,improve their learning efficiency and as a result encourage students to learn by themselves autonomously and improve the efficiency in the vocabulary teaching in English reading class.
