With the popularization of computers and the development of modern educationaltechnology, the corpus is more and more closely integrated with education. With corpus usedin vocabulary teaching in foreign language teaching at the earliest, the related researchachievements in this area have been found most. However, vocabulary teaching and learningis a great challenge for the teachers and students in practical teaching nowadays. With theinfluence of mother tongue, learning motivation、interests, language competence and someother factors, students’ learning outcome of vocabulary is unsatisfactory. The effect ofvocabulary learning has much direct influence on foreign language learning. Thecorpus-based vocabulary teaching model can preferably solve this practical problem, bringingnew teaching method and helping improve the effectiveness of teaching. The corpus-basedDDL learning method can improve students’ language proficiency and develop theircomprehensive abilities in using vocabulary. At present, though corpus-based teaching ismostly used in universities, it’s seldom used in middle schools. So this thesis tries to makesome teaching design by combining the corpus and vocabulary teaching, choose two parallelclasses in Zhangzhou NO.2Middile School as research objects and apply the teaching designto practical teaching with the aid of the resources and technology of corpus. Do a teachingexperiment and analyse the data of pre-test, post-test and questionnair to test the feasibilityand effectiveness of this method. After a period of time of teaching, the students in theexperimental class have accepted the teaching model and improved their vocabulary level.Their learning effect precedes the students of the control class. The experimental data showsthat corpus-based teaching design can enlarge students’ vocabulary, deepen their vocabularyknowledge and improve their comprehensive language application ability. This design canalso clear the deficiency of traditional teaching method and improve the effectiveness ofvocabulary teaching.
