Our nation has a long history of five thousand years. The language is an important carrier of cultural heritage. So, we need to learn and master the language of the motherland.But the Chinese language is very different with other countries’ languages. It’s difficult to learn it. So many experts and scholars pay more attention to children’s learning. Chinese subject is the basic of learning other subjects. Chinese Course Standard requires:Learn Chinese pinyin; Can speak Mandarin; Learn about 3500 common used Chinese words; write Chinese words correctly. This shows writing is the main teaching task of primary school.Based on the Chinese Course Standard, the writer analyses distribution of words in textbooks of People’s Education Publishing, and compares it with Modern Chinese Character Commonly Used in Table, Frequently Table, and analyses textbooks of different grades. The conclusion is that the number of words almost meets requirement of Course Standard. However, some words beyond the scope of Course Standard, and rarely repete. They are also not closely with students’ life. These factors affect students to learn and to grasp these words. Course Standards requires textbooks’ words of every grades should contact with each other, step by step, and have a clearly gradient. In this study, the author finds out the reasons and tries to find out solve methods about problems of textbooks.In this study, textbooks are classified, contrasted and analysed. The study also provides a general understanding about distribution of words in textbooks. The writer also hopes to provide some reference for the compile and improvement of textbooks.
