A Comparative Research Of Digital Publishing Education In China And UK Universities

Excellent digital publisher is the key to promote the development ofChina’s digital publishing. In the1980s, based on the traditional paperpublishing, we witnessed the development of higher education in editing andpublishing. However, it is difficult to smoothly transform from traditionalpublishing to digital publishing. In China, digital publishing talent is stillrelatively scarce at present, therefore, exploring the mode of digital publishingeducation and cultivating marketable digital publishing talent have become anissue.In this paper, based on the author’s own experience of studying inBeijing Institution of Graphic Communication and Edinburgh Napier University,adopting the literature analysis method and interview method, the authorresearches and compares the digital publishing education between bothuniversities in different areas, such as training target, teachers andprofessional courses, teaching methods and teaching platform resources.
