In recent years, the study of self-identity starts to turn to theory of identity style from Marcia’s identity state paradigm.Identity style refers to the social cognitive strategy that the individual use and preference when handling and coordinating issues related identity. Berzonsky divided the identity style into three kinds, namely informational style, normative style and diffuse-avoidant style. In this study, the college students in our district will be divided into three types of identity style through the revised identity style inventory(ISI- 5), and investigate the difference of coping styles in college students’ common identity conflict. Research methods: questionnaire survey, the research tools is revised identity style inventory and the investigation about main identity conflict problems of the college students form wang nannan’s study, and the investigation combine with three coping styles.The results of this study is that coping styles of three kinds of identity style exist significant difference in identity conflict of interpersonal communication, education, values and in identity conflict of internal and external(p ≤0.05),and the social cognitive strategies of individuals can predict individual identity style(p ≤0.01).The conclusion of this study are as follows:(1) The revised identity style inventory has good reliability and validity, and can be used to measure college students’ identity style in research.(2)The coping styles of college students are different between the different identity style in interpersonal, learning, the goals and values, internal and external identity conflict.(3) The social cognitive strategies of individuals for identity conflict problem can be used to predict the identity style.
