Students’ perceptions of classroom environment are the important factor for English teaching, and it should not be ignored by those wishing to improve the effectiveness of schools. This study aims to investigate three grades of students from Liusha School by using questionnaire and interview. This study mainly answers the following three questions:1) What is the current situation of junior students’ perceptions on English classroom environment? 2) Do students in the different genders or different grades have different perceptions on English classroom environment? If they do, what are the differences? 3) Is there any significant relationship between the students’ perceptions on English classroom environment and students academic records? How is the relationship between them?According to the result of SPSS 19.0, a conclusion can be reached as follows:first, students are not very satisfied with their English classroom environment, and their satisfactions can be listed from high to low:task orientation (mean=3.66), students cohesiveness (mean=3.27), teacher support (mean=3.19), cooperation (mean=3.18) and class order (mean=3.17). Second, in accordance with the results of comparative analysis, there exist differences in different genders and different grades. Girls are more satisfied with the classroom environment than boys. Grade 7 students are more satisfied with the classroom environment than other two grades, while Grade 8 students are the least satisfied with the classroom environment among the three grades students. Finally, there is a positive correlation relationship between students’ perception of classroom environment and their scores.Based on the discussion, the author gives some suggestions to English teachers, and hopes they can help teachers to improve students’ perceptions of classroom environment. First of all, teachers should give students individual support, it can help them strengthen self-confidence; secondly, teachers should raise students’ awareness about task orientation, if they understand the goals of the class, they can cooperate with teacher; thirdly, teachers should take students’ differences into consideration, students in different genders and grades like different tasks, specific tasks will make students more activity in class.
