Adult high education is a main part of education systems in China, and plays an important role both in improving citizen’s educational qualities and promoting science and technology of society. Since the reform and open-up Policy has been implemented, there have been millions of people enrolled in adult high education and gained high education diploma after graduation and then devoted themselves to the society advancement, economic construction,as well as cultural development. As a province with high economic and education strength in China, Zhejiang has made brilliant achievements in the field of adult high education in the late 1990s and early 21st century.In recent years, with the fast development of education, high education has transformed from elite education into popularized education.With the increasing number of students in universities and colleges, some of universities and colleges specialized in adult high education have faced numerous problems, such as difficulties in students recruitment, decreasing number of students, deterioration of teaching quality. In the crossroad of development, adult high education in Zhejiang province has been facing a large number of challenges, for instance, how to play a greater role in the new era? How to meet the challenges actively? How to change the ideologies of running universities and colleges? How to improve the educational administration?Project Management is an integrated subject, which aims at applying scientific theories and practices to improve management efficiency and raise management quality to a higher level.Adult High Education fully conforms to the criterion of project management. It has a definite target, that is to improve teaching qualities and students management, and also promote the social culture and technology development.It has fixed semester circles, and is subjected to the objective education resources. It needs varieties of resources applied to daily management, including finance resources, human resources,space resources, technology resources. Universities and colleges can divide adult high education into a certain number of projects according to the classification of universities and colleges, majors, the properties of universities and colleges. Meanwhile, apply the theories and methods of project management to take charge of adult high education according to the characteristics of projects.In the first part of this essay, author first introduces the development stages of adult high education in Zhejiang province, and then introduces the present study focuses of adult high education all over the world, finally fixes the study subject. The author explains the theories and practice methods of project management, introduces and analyses kinds of theories and methods discussed in the essay.In the second part,the author analyses the present challenges and problems of adult high education in Zhejiang province in a detailed way, discusses the objective reasons and internal restricting factors for these problems, and also puts forward his own opinions for the future development of adult high education. In the third part, the author,from qualitative and quantitive aspects, comes up with the solutions to the problems of adult high education management in Zhejiang province, emphasizes the approaches to applying the theories and methods of modern project management to the adult high education management in Zhejiang province, and then analyses the essay’s theory and practice significance. In the last part, the author makes a conclusion,and forecasts the benefits of guiding the future development of adult high education management.
