| Because of economic globalization of modern life, English is the most popular language in the world. The education of English in primary stage is inevitably crucial for citizen quality education in school education. Due to meet the pressure of exam-oriented,school teachers often neglect the cultivation of students’ interests,experiences and cognitive level but put too much emphasis on the development of language knowledge.One of the important way to solve the problem is classroom activities. Classroom activities are great help for students to gain knowledge, develop abilities, exchange ideas and information and teachers also get benefits on achieving teaching objective of English teaching.The thesis is divided into six portions. The first chapter is the introduction of background, significance and methodology. The second chapter introduces the related research on the approach of activities; The third chapter is mainly about the relevant theories; The forth chapter focuses on the specific instructions about a study on the approach of activities in Junior Middle School English grammar class; The fifth chapter includes the process of analyzing the data and discussing the results; In the last chapter, it mainly talks about the conclusions, suggestions and limitations of this study.This thesis is a study of the teaching of English grammar of junior students. The author investigates the teachers and students’ situation of Chongqing Rongchang junior middle school.Guided by the approach of activities, the author does a comparison on English grammar between the traditional teaching method and teaching in activities.Through the whole semester’s experiment, the author analyzes the questionnaire survey of the grammar class and analyzes the data and the statistics of the marks of the Final Test. The author finally reaches the following conclusions: Through teaching English grammar under the guidance of the approach of activities, the English performance as well as the interests, enthusiasm of the students in the experimental class are improved effectively, which, to some extent, proves the effectiveness of the model for teaching English grammar designed by the author. At the end of this thesis, the author analyzes the limitations of this research, summarizes several teaching suggestions which may be helpful to numerous educators. |
