Grammar teaching plays an important role in the English teaching in Junior High School. However, the traditional English grammar teaching was mainly carried out with the cramming system, which results in the time-consuming and inefficient English grammar teaching class in Junior High School to some extent. While with the further development of the theory and practice on the STA, more and more researches focus on the application of the STA to English class, especially to the oral English class. However, there are few researches on the application of the STA in English grammar teaching in Junior High School. Therefore, it is essential to conduct a study on the application of the STA in English grammar teaching in Junior High School.So, this study will research and explore the application of the STA in English grammar teaching in Junior High School from both the theoretical and the practical aspects. The introduction of the thesis simply talks about the background of the STA and grammar teaching as well as the significance of this study. In Chapter One, the researcher will try to put forward several effective strategies on how to integrate the STA with the English grammar teaching class after reading and researching lots of the theoretical books and thesis related to the STA. Chapter Two will present the research design of this study in detail. In Chapter Three, the researcher will focus on the experimental grammar class designed in this study:this study will design an experimental grammar lesson based on the strategies proposed at the beginning, and finally carries out the experimental grammar lesson in two classes of Grade Two in the Central School of Gantian in Yueyang, Hunan. In Chapter Four, the researcher will discuss and analyze the data and materials collected from the experiment, and explore the teaching efficiency of the application of the STA in English grammar teaching in Junior High School from the practical aspects. Finally, the following conclusions have been made at the end of the study:1. The experiment on the application of the STA to the English grammar teaching in Junior High School tured to be feasible.2. The application of the STA in English grammar teaching in Junior High School can effectively stimulate and arouse students’ interests in learning English grammar.3. The design and application of specific and vivid situations can help the teacher carry out an English grammar teaching class, meanwhile, students can learn the grammar in a more effective way.
