To explore and learn education rules and to guide the self-cognition, planning and development of students from the perspective of gender difference show shocking results. “Difference” first appeared in the psychological research. A case in point is Differential Psychology by W. Stern, a German psychologist. Over the recent years, with the development of China’s education theories and the broadening of the disciplinary vision, viewpoints of other relevant disciplines are constantly referred to by researchers of education theories. Research findings of gender difference have imposed a growing influence on the development of education theories. The unique academic perspective of gender difference has invigorated the development of education theories in China.The Musicology(Teachers’ Education) major in colleges and universities focuses on the cultivation of future education implementers. Human development is the prerequisite for education. The individual difference is inevitable. To pay attention to gender difference can contribute greatly to human development. Thus, to review some education phenomena in colleges and universities from the perspective of gender difference, to further think about the goal of talent cultivation through preliminary study of curriculum theory and teaching theory and to make the basic education theories vigorously support education concepts and education goals have become a new research focus college and university education theories. Education theoretical research from the perspective of gender difference has expanded the research scope of education theories and provided new solutions to problems existing in education study. The significance of the interdisciplinary research has been gradually realized. The proper application of the gender difference perspective to teaching activities has a positive effect on humans’ all-around development.Concerning the demand for reform and innovation of music ability and skill courses in universities and colleges, this paper attempts to explore curriculum organization concepts and principles to cultivate innovation talents with all-around character development and compound modern talents with high professional skills from the perspective of gender difference and proceeding from the sociological and femaleological research to be different from the traditional unitary thinking mode.The traditional music education features the scientific and rationalistic spirit. It belongs to the unitary outlook on truth. However, music education from the perspective of gender difference promotes multi-perspective and multi-disciplinary integration. Gender difference is a multidisciplinary study which covers sociology, philosophy, femaleology and so on. This does not mean that this paper wants to apply the feminist thoughts to music education in colleges and universities. The development of education is a continuous process. To meet the demands for the development of education calls for diversification and innovation. This is also the inevitable result following the development of the previous linear ideas.The basic structure of this paper: First, this paper introduces theories related to gender and the relationship between gender and education. Then, it attempts to combine the two to guide education behaviors and analyze the problems existing in the music ability skill courses in colleges and universities. At last, the significance of the perspective of gender difference in guiding the skill and ability courses for the musicology(teachers’ education) major is studied. The education paradigms under the traditional music education model and from the perspective of gender difference should complement each other. This research can provide more humanized ability and skill course teaching methods beneficial for the self-development of the musiology(teachers’ education) major. This research just serves as a modest spur to induce more scholars to come forward with their valuable contributions to integrate the gender awareness into music education activities and seek more attention and applications for it.
