Application Of Confucian Filial Piety Culture In School Moral Education

The culture of Confucian filial piety thought is an important part of China traditional culture, which plays an important role in the inheritance of traditional culture in China. The Confucian thought of "filial piety", is regarded as the traditional virtue of Chinese nation, and also an important standard to measure a man’s character. Filial piety is the most important ingredient of all virtues and also the foundation of all virtue s. But pupils understand it little and practice less. The author is a primary school teacher, a headmaster teacher, a Chinese teacher, a moral teacher, who has accumulated considerable experience through frontline classroom teaching and communication with students and their parents. She knows deeply that loving the old is extremely essential on interpersonal harmony, family harmony, and social harmony. If we absorb the power of good from the Chinese traditional culture, it may play an important role in building people, cultivating and improving the students’ consciousness of gratitude, the sense of responsibility and the thought of patriotic.This paper interpreted that the Confucian culture of filial piety is an important part of Chinese moral from, the basic connotation of Confucian filial piety culture and its contemporary value; The author combined her results of the questionnaire survey and personal sentiment of teaching in seven primary schools located in Chengdu, Zigong, Mianyang. She analyzed the reason and phenomenon of the lack of filial piety. “Filial piety fundationed of ethics generates civilization.” From the perspective of “the fundamental task of education is to establishing moral value and cultivating people. ” She proposed the consideration on the application of Confucian filial piety culture in school moral education,which is “Taking essence and removing dregs; paying attention on details and persisting; focusing trifles and effecting subtle; Interacting home and school and promoting”。...
