In recent years, Chinese society and economy has undergone tremendous changes, development of higher education also follow suit. In the "12th five-year plan" period of Chinese education, profound changes on social demand for education and personnel occurred. The highly requirements for increasing the supply of skills, complex high-level personnel occurred, due to social and economic development, international development process accelerated. In the face of today’s large-scale development of the world adjustments and technological innovation breakthroughs, global talent, technology and education is increasing competitive. The status of postgraduate education is more important than ever, for increasing demand for top-notch innovative talents cultivation. From the perspective of the market, simple education theory has been insufficient to guide the development of postgraduate education. It was necessary to upgrade to the strategic level.GDUT begun to enter the stage of constructing high-quality University, and postgraduate education is one of the assessment project. As a part of GDUT, school of Automation undoubtedly keeps up with the pace of GDUT. While the postgraduate education quality of school of automation maintains a distance to the standard of high-quality University required. In the demands of social, market and the development situation of GDUT, postgraduate education of school of Automation GDUT need to design develop strategies for its own.This paper analysis the current situation of postgraduate education of school of Automation GDUT, and identify the problem in terms of quality, enrollment scale, competitiveness, innovation and so on. While according to what have analyzed before, determine the strategic objectives to be achieved, and strategy. Through the study of literature collection, collation, we get some useful knowledge of Postgraduate Education Quality Assurance System, university brand, postgraduate education innovation system and innovation personnel training, higher education international development, to be the support material; to analysis the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of school of Automation postgraduate education, draw conclusions of SWOT analysis:Internally, this school’s postgraduate education has certain academic advantages, and has a certain brand effect in the industry, there is a certain basis for the development; but the quality of education, Training features and innovative need to be strengthened. Externally, postgraduate education is supported by the Government, but also need to face up to the pressure and competition brought by the process of development and globalization.Finally, the paper combines education, branding, strategy development theory, bases on SWOT analysis conclusion, to determine strategic goals and Strategic options. And then design strategic countermeasures of quality, scale, brand and innovation of this school’s postgraduate education. Last, the paper focus on quality, brand and innovation, list relevant security system to ensure the successful implementation of strategic responses.
