At present, China is deepening reform of basic education, the basic idea is to optimize the learning mode of students, "the outline of basic education curriculum reform(Trial)" put forward: we should pay attention to cultivate the students’ independence and autonomy, to guide students to learn in practice, to promote the students under the guidance of teachers actively, the rich individuality learning. Autonomous learning is a kind of ability is a kind of teaching and learning strategies in extracurricular reading, can be regarded as a kind of reading strategies, reading is the effective means to cultivate students’ ability of autonomous learning, autonomous learning ability and can be used to further enhance and through the practice of extracurricular reading, the two promote each other. Many schools and teachers are actively exploring how to let students enjoy reading, reading, improve students’ autonomous learning ability in extracurricular reading, and have achieved some success,but there are many shortcomings. This paper aims to understand the current situation of extracurricular reading in primary schools and the ability of autonomous learning situation and find problems and put forward suggestions to solve the problem.Firstly from reading attitude, reading strategies and reading needs three questionnaire survey the development of urban and rural students in different regions, different gender, different family background students in extra-curricular reading, followed by the amount table for elementary school students autonomous learning ability were measured, and by the students language examination(the Chinese exam papers of extracurricular reading part) to obtain the extracurricular reading scores by statistical software SPSS19.O launched correlation and difference of.In extracurricular reading study found: 1, the students score on the reading strategies and reading attitude and demand dimensions than score is generally low, urgent need to strengthen the specific guidance of students reading strategies; 2, focus on primary school students in reading attitude, reading strategy and reading needs three dimensions on average score relatively ordinary school high school students of villages and towns, and in reading attitude and demand dimensions and ordinary primary school and town primary school students exist significant difference respectively; 3, regional differences between urban and rural areas is also embodied in urban and rural differences in reading resources, urban students than rural students’ reading attitudes are more positive and more active, more reading enthusiasm, have a good reading habits; 4, gender comparison, the girl reading attitude are better than boys, and performance for a more positive and more active, more durable, stronger purpose; 5, in comparing different family background, parental level of education, economic income, and parents and primary school students’ reading attitude, strategies, and requirements, etc. There is significant difference between multiple dimensions.Found in the autonomous learning ability of research: 1, most of the students’ autonomous learning ability is low, the key primary school students’ autonomous learning ability may exist polarization phenomenon, autonomous learning subscales learning environment, learning time and learning process in the three lowest scoring; 2, the different school students in the comparison in the learning motivation, learning content, learning time and learning environment, learning process has significant difference; 3, the elementary student’s independent learning ability stronger than the ordinary primary school and town primary school, girls’ autonomous learning ability is stronger than the boy; 4, the correlation study of primary and middle school students’ autonomous learning ability and the extracurricular reading scores, and there exists a significant correlation between and among reading strategies. Problems are as follows: 1, in extracurricular reading knowledge of training autonomous learning ability is not in place, there is myth; 2, professor of autonomous learning strategies, apply and guide does not reach the designated position; 3, students are not get into the habit of independent on extracurricular reading; 4, parents is not clear from the role of independent on extracurricular reading in children, there are "absence" phenomenon; 5, guides the student extracurricular reading ability of autonomic learning form the poor external environment. Aimed at these problems this paper put forward the corresponding proposal: 1, change ideas, respect students’ subject position; 2, the church, and guide the students to read the use autonomous learning strategies are independent; 3, gradually improve extracurricular reading ability of autonomic learning in the formation of the external environment; 4, training, parents of students’ autonomous learning to give the guidance of the scientific and reasonable.
