Research On The Mode Of Sustainable Development Of Reborn Babies Family After "5.12" Wenchuan Earthquake

"5.12" Wenchuan earthquake occurred in 2008, is the most destructive and the most widely spread range of a major earthquake since the establishment of national. Population death is the most irreparable damage to the society. The balance of the regional population structure was broken thoroughly. But more seriously, many traditional families’ sustainable procreation had to be prevented. Such prevention of procreation created a specifically social group, who had received much attention since the catastrophe. The group members were all the family who had lost their only one child, either been killed or severely injured, in the earthquake. There are more than 8000 families belonged to this kind(approximately, 3,700 death and 3,800 disability). To help them overcome such family disaster, government made a policy of Population Reborn, which had caused some significantly positive social effects. This policy has also become an example way of population reconstruction when overcoming other urgent disasters. While this policy of Population Reborn, as a temporary rescuing measure, aimed to help the only-child-lost family get a chance of having one more child, it did not fully consider the long-term plan representing the benefit of the newly born children. Therefore, in reality when the policy has been implemented, the reborn children, as well as the newly developed families, had undergone a lot of difficulties.Based on the investigating data of the reborn children and the newly developed family from the earthquake-stricken area, and through some quantitative methods, this paper was proposed to evaluate some potential factors influencing those children、education and families. This research has found some confirmed facts, that by the policy of Population Reborn, those only-child-lost families did get some "comfort" by procreating new child. Except of this, the reborn children’s health and education, as well as the newly developed families were associated with some serious problems either. Due to the lack of more detailed data, it is believed that some deep problems are still covered. But even with such discovered problems, at present, the government shall be required to amend the existed policies, and produce long-term and efficient policies as soon as possible. In conclusion, this study has seven chapters.The first chapter is introduction. It mainly introduces background、purpose and significance、overseas and domestic research status、the train of thought, the content and method, the innovation and the insufficiency of the paper.The second chapter is the theoretical basis. This chapter mainly involves the related theory, and summarized it. The related theory include the basic demographic、abnormal demographic and intrusive demographic theory.The third chapter is the population loss data list and the reborn appeal after the earthquake. This chapter mainly discusses the regional general situation、the population loss and disabilities of the nationwide as well as the survey area; And investigate the reborn appeal of the reborn family in the survey area(the reborn population).This chapter is the survey sustainable development of reborn babies family after“5.12”Wenchuan earthquake. And make a empirical investigation and study to the child health、education and families of reborn babies family in the survey area, learn to the present situation of the survival and the development. On this basis, add to the depth interview and discussion to support it.The fifth chapter is the influence mechanism of sustainable development of the reborn family. Based on the survey data, take Ordered Probit Model to analyze the health of reborn children, their education, and the situation of developed families.Chapter vi is the core issues of the empirical investigation and the mechanism analysis. This chapter is to combine the analysis of the fourth chapter and chapter v, put forward to the apparent sustainable development problems.Seventh chapter is conclusion and prospect.
