The definition of interpersonal obstacle is a negative reciprocal process between adolescents and their peers, family members, teachers and social groups when they exchange information and emotions with each other. People are demanded greater interpersonal skills in social life because of the social development and more complicated social relations. Adolescence is a critical period for the growth of teenagers. Their surrounding environment has a great influence on their formation and development of interpersonal communication. This paper makes a solid foundation for the enhancement of targeted psychological healthy education in interpersonal communication by analyzing the causes of teenagers’ interpersonal obstacles in three schools of Shandong province. The methods used in this research are questionnaire and case studies. In the literature review part, the basic conceptions and relevant theories of interpersonal obstacles are expounded in a clear and systematical way. The features of teenagers’ interpersonal obstacles and their primary manifestations, and main influential factors in the past research are evaluated and assessed. Furthermore, I analyze the characteristics of contemporary state of relevant researches in China. The subjects are about 1000 adolescent students selected from Jinan city and Dingtao county, Heze city in this research. The questionnaire is designed on the basis of Schoolmates’ Interpersonal Disturbance Diagnosis Scale devised by Zheng Richang, a former professor of Beijing Normal University. Then, the questionnaires are used to explore students’ current interpersonal obstacles, self experience and factors causing their either attraction or repulsion one another. In the subsequent research, part of students are randomly selected to conduct case studies so as to reveal the essential causes of adolescence interpersonal obstacles and the negative influences from family, school and social environment according to the results of questionnaire. The result of questionnaire shows that teenagers have to face interpersonal obstacles to various degrees in talking, making friends, dealing with people and opposite-sex communication. The obviously different elements lie in gender, age, lodging or not, students’ hometown and their school record, etc. I find that the teenagers’ personal experience, their family environment, school environment have greater influences on their interpersonal obstacles from the case studies. Therefore, I manage to put forward several specific suggestions to teenagers’ psychological health education in interpersonal obstacles. However, it is inevitable to have some limitations in this research, such as the lack of analysis of the problem about adolescence interpersonal obstacles and stronger theoretical support and case studies. Besides, the sources of subjects are quite limited because the most adolescents are from superior schools and they are lack of representation to reflect current situations of adolescence interpersonal communication.
