Since the 21st century, our extra-school education has transited from the stage of stadium construction to connotation development. Almost each city possesses at least a comprehensive extra-school education institution currently, and how to make full use of these institutions has become the key problem for the sustainable development of extra-school education in the new period. Curriculum is the core of the education; it is also the key to the development of extra-school education. However, due to lack of clear understanding of their functions, there has been a lot of problems in extra-school education curriculum planning, such as obscure objectivity, overlapping contents and loose curriculum developing, which made extra-school education facing so much criticism for its professionalism. Clarifying function of extra-school education is the logical starting of education curriculum planning.There are three arguments for extra-school education function, which contains the function of extension, complementary and collaborative. With the deepening of the understanding of extra-school education and the supporting from our nation, collaborative serve as the basic function has won widespread acceptance. The concept of collaboration means school education and extra-school education as two aspects of a united system, serving every child. Therefor, extra-school education curriculum planning is not copying what school does, not to be different from school but do what is good for children’s development. School education curriculum planning is to set up curriculum system to promote the development of children personalized development.In practice, extra-school education curriculum planning includes making curriculum goals, choosing curriculum structures, designing ways of curriculum implementation, and curriculum evaluation. The goal of extra-school education curriculum is the soul of the program, but in reality there are still some problems in curriculum goals, such as ambiguity in orientation, lack of connotation and misunderstanding. It is important to take the extra-school education curriculum policy, institutional culture and children’s interests and needs into consideration during the process of the making goals. Besides, certain principles should be followed:highlighting the subject status of children; being clear, reflecting the characteristic of extra-school education institution itself. Extra-school education curriculum structure is the material carrier of curriculum goals, but in practice some problems including imbalance, lack of integration should be solved. Scientific and reasonable design of course structure should be consistent with the course objectives, with a clear logic, as well as adhere to the unity of children.Extra-school education curriculum implementation is critical when curriculum planning put into teaching activity. But as to the teachers own indisputable controlling of teaching, and institutions’lacking of clarification, formalism and loosely practice appear, which undermined the efficiency of extra-school classes. Therefore, teachers’ guiding role of extra-school education curriculum implementation is of significance, while adhering to the main body status of children and keeping consistence with curriculum attributes are of greater significance. Typical extra-school education curriculum implementation methods include experience learning, cooperative learning and inquiry-based learning. According to the different learning objectives, learning content and the implementation of the integrated teaching situation, teachers choose different methods. Extra-school education curriculum evaluation belongs to the category of the developmental evaluation for its own features. As a result, the goal of extra-school education curriculum is developing. Evaluation method should keep consistent with the course objectives. What’s more, curriculum developers should pay attention to the whole process of curriculum evaluation, especially the curriculum itself, instead of merely putting emphasis on the evaluation of teachers and student. Common extra-school education curriculum evaluation includes children-self assessment, performance assessment, files evaluation.
