| With the progress of society and the development of economy, we can see university teachers’ treatment and status have improved a lot than before. At the same time, we also see that health condition has become a cause for concern partly in that they have to deal with all kinds of pressure. University teachers undertake many tasks, such as teaching, scientific research, administrative management and so on. Their health condition is not only related to self-development, also related to the students’ healthy growth, and also related to the university teaching quality, scientific research level, development space and competitiveness. Therefore, figuring out effective solutions to existed health problems after paying attention to and studying the university teachers’ health condition is of great significance.That the author titled this thesis "Investigation and Analysis of Nanjing University Teachers’ Health State and Its Influencing Factors" is mainly based on the following three reasons:firstly, the author thinks that the study of health and related issues is a timeless topic; secondly, with the author’s mentor’s guidance and help who engages in researches on public health management, the author has a strong research interest in this topic; thirdly, the author participated in the entry of physical examination data of faculty and staff in Nanjing University organized by Nanjing University hospital preventive care division, and the staff in charge of preventive care division told the author that the health condition of the teachers in our university is not optimistic, and the management of faculty and staff health is not perfect.In this paper, using several methods (including literature material method, interview method, questionnaire survey method, mathematics statistics method, inductive and deductive method, analysis and synthesis method), and based on the principle of combining empirical analysis and theoretical analysis, the author carried on the analysis of 1165 full-time teachers’ physical examination data of 2011-2012 school year, and also conducted an individual interview and sampling survey to full-time teachers in Nanjing University. The following five aspects are elaborated in this thesis:the teachers’ physical abnormalities, subjective feelings, life habits, working status, exercise status, and from these five parts we can judge the teachers’ health status, find out the factors affecting the teachers’ health, and accordingly put forward some recommendations to improve the teachers’ health.The conclusions of study are as following:1. The health state of teachers in our university is worrying.2. The proportion of teachers with good life habits is low.3. The work pressure of teachers in university is high, and the burden of scientific research is intense.4. The exercise situation of teachers in our university is concerning for lack of exercise science knowledge.With respect to the health condition of teachers in our university, this thesis suggests that:1. For teachers:establishing the correct health care consciousness; developing good living habits; strengthening the science consciousness of exercise; learning to self relief and regulate mood.2. For university:paying more attention to the teachers’ health status, taking effective measures to care for the teachers’ health and moving the implement into effect. All relevant departments should plan as a whole, the trade union, university hospital, university mental health education and research center, sports department should strengthen communication and cooperation. Use the advanced public health management experience from other countries for reference. Concrete measures are:to improve the teachers’ work and living environment; to allocate teachers’ income rationally; to pay attention to counsel teachers’ psychological pressure; to pay attention to the teachers’ physical exeamination, health education and management; to play the important role of university sports department. |
