| In the second half of the 20 th Century, The rapid development of New Media pushes the human society into a completely new environment, the New Media Environment. The New Media Environment has a great influence on the development of world politics, economy and culture, even change the way of the production, living, thinking and ideas. Universities, which has widely been known as the forefront of the ideological education, and the young teachers in there are the major force; Strengthening the ideological education of young teachers therefore play an important role to ensure the socialist direction of running a universities and improve the effects of the ideological and political education for college students and promote the healthy growth of young university teachers. The New Media Environment also been known as a "double-edged sword". It brings both opportunities and challenges for young university teachers’ ideological education. This is an important issue that---How to utilize the opportunities and face the challenges in this currently new period? This article will investigate the young university teachers’ ideological education which has been put into the New Media Environment by using the historical materialism as a basic method. Combining the academic achievements provided by studying the ideological and political education and the science of communication. It will conclude some preliminary thoughts and prospects of young university teachers’ ideological education in the New Media Environment.
