As the rapid development of the network technology whose core is Web2.0,social networking technology has become gradually mature, this may bring newrevolution on the web learning, social networking learning is paid more attentionas the new study method. The application of open source software in teachingbecomes increasingly prevalent,Sakai is a representative open source networkteaching platform which is used in more than350education institutions, its spiritof cooperation and sharing is agree with the social networking learning,Sakai cansatisfy the requirements for learner to study in Web2.0era and be more suitableplatform on social networking learning. In this paper, social networking learning isstudied based on network learning platform, basic social networking learningtheory based on Sakai platform is put forward, the study model and process modelis being built, practice research based on Sakai platform in the domain ofvocational education is present.Research status on social networking learning practical in the aspect ofpractice and theory is specific discuss at home and abroad, the use and latestresearch on Sakai platform is present, research significance, thought and ways arestated in this paper as well. Sakai networking learning platform is introduced indetail, including systematic framework, major function, website type and essentialtools. The advantage of Sakai is analyzed by comparing to other web-basedteaching platform, feasibility on carrying out Social networking learning based onSakai platform is stated. The conclude is that Sakai platform is very suitable forsevering as social networking learning platform at the advantage of ease of use,sociality and expandability.Connectivism and Long tail theory are dissected separately, Socialnetworking learning theory foundation based on Sakai is established; the conceptof knowledge on connectivism is explained in more detail and compares withconstructivism. By the way, the phenomenon existing in the learning domain ispointed out, the concept of Long tail theory learning is proposed as well. Thedoubts and complements are proposed by analyzing connectivism and Long tailtheory synthetically. The main idea in Social networking learning is researched further. Throughout analyzing social networking learning factors based on Sakaiplatform(including environment, resources, activities and evaluation), socialnetworking learning model is built, the specific process model is further set up,The specific process and the relationship between teachers and students isanalyzed deeply.The practice of the social networking learning is analyzed and investigated bytaking one course for example in vocational education domain, the simulate testplatform is set up on the Sakai platform.
