Specialty indicates a profession that requires advanced technical levels which can satisfy the pubic demand. The professionals have to undergo a long process of specialized ed cation by way of obtaining comprehensive knowledge of specialty skills, developing good judgment and sound sense, enhancing professionalism and moral philosophy, and finally possessing professional qualifications. Since the professional knowledge is in a highly dynamic development, the professionals should constantly update their knowledge to meet the demands of the social development. The specialized education, relying on Specialty and profound knowledge, aims at training men for profession who is capable of owning expertise, competence and ethics.In recent years, due to the rapid changes of society, the professional education in China lacks the substantive valid pattern, which is profoundly manifested in narrow and shallow professional knowledge, weak ability and lack of professional spirit.Based on the full grasp of the relevant literature, and using the comparative research method, this paper expounds the connotation and denotation of Professional Education from the perspective of the individual needs, social needs, and professional accreditation; analyzes the fundamental problems existing in the breadth, height and depth of professional education; and puts forward some methods to reform and improve which consists of:(1) to lay foundation for lifelong professional development, professional education should be the integration of professional knowledge, professional ability, and professional ethics;(2)reducing courses, increasing the depth of curriculum to stimulate students’ learning motivation;(3) Strengthening the general education and curriculum breadth, developing professional spirit;(4)changing the teaching way and encouraging the students to learn from superficial learning to deep learning;(5)Strengthening the practice, improving the appraisal standards and requirements, and training professional abilities;(6)Changing the education mode from the shallow, narrow professional education to professional education with depth and width, and changing the teaching content from knowledge-oriented into ability-oriented.
