| The application of Western Modernist paintings in painting teaching of high grade in primary schools facilitate students to more comprehensively and directly study the visual language and increase their visual appreciation. The students can complete the paintings in line with their appreciation by art knowledge of modernist painting, instead of common art image. Meanwhile, during the painting process, students can release their emotion by combining their life experience with the painting content.This paper summarizes the possibilities and necessities of the modernist painting applied in the painting creation by the students of high grade in primary schools by analyzing the current situation of the application of modernist painting, and the close relationship between modernist painting and children’s painting as well as the psychological development characteristics on painting for the students in the high grade of primary schools. It takes the reference of the morphological shape, visual elements and laws of form of modernist painting to change the student’s old visual schema and improve students’ painting expressive ability.The paper is consisted of five parts.Part I:Firstly, through the domestic and foreign literature review, the research hypotheses are proposed. In addition, the concepts including "Western Modernist Painting" and "High Grade in Primary Schools" are verified. Secondly, the research contents, research techniques, and implementation process of the paper are introduced. In the end, the theoretical meaning and practical meaning of the paper are proposed. Part II:Through the analysis on teaching situation of modernist painting and on close relationship between modernist painting and children painting and painting psychology development of students in high grade of primary schools, the possibility and necessity of modernist painting in painting teaching for students in high grade of primary schools are demonstrated.Part III:The visual language features of modernist painting are explained from three aspects including morphological shape, visual elements, and forms of law.Part Ⅳ:It takes the method of reference style performance and apply the visual language of modernist painting in the teaching of painting and it demonstrates the effectiveness of modernist painting in the practical teaching from three aspects such as teaching cases, contrastive analysis on works of experimental classes and regular classes as well as teaching effectiveness analysis.Part V:Teaching suggestions are proposed from aspects including sample selection method, teaching strategy application, and teaching content preparation. |
