In the wave of educational reform, the reform of textbook has been playing an important role in the development of educational,The difficulty of textbook,which has become a central content in educational reform. Nowadays,education has been internationalized,we should learn from other countries strong points to offset our weaknesses,for the present situation of study,for the difficulty of the high school textbooks international research very few,so it is necessary for the comparison of difficulty of high school textbooks between Chinese and British.In this study,through reading a large number of Chinese and foreign literature of textbooks comparative study,at the same time,compared the mathematics curriculum standsrds of both Chinese and British. The textbook of "Mathematics"A of chinese (published by the People’sEducation Committee),and the textbook of "Mathematics" SMP of british (published by the Cambridge university press), these two versions of textbooks are ready for the study.From the text level of the textbooks,we use the content analysis,comparative to begin our comparative studyIn this study, by using the professor of Shi Ning Zhong’s mathematics model of textbook difficulty:N=β1S/T+β2G/T+β3X/TIn this model,G is knuwledge group width, S is knuwledge group depth,X is difficulty of mathematical problem,T is lesson period. β1、β2、β3are called as weighting factor which show the degree of knuwledge group’s focusing on "comparative width" or "comparative depth" or "difficulty of mathematical problem",we call N defind by knuwledge group difficulty.By using this model,the textbooks of Chinese and British Were analyzed and quantified. The datas of textbooks of Chinese and British were calculated. Finally,the two countries to the difficulty of the textbooks were concluded. Furthermore,we analyze the data,some suggestions are given for the textbooks reform of our country.
