New situation has provided the higher education with unprecedented opportunities fordevelopment and newly-produced problems as well. Traditional management concept, mode andmechanism for colleges students which are out of the situation should be reformed and innovatedbecause of the increasing enrollment of students in colleges and the flowing of western thoughts.Moreover, the purpose of education is not only transmission of knowledge and skills. It is moreimportant to arouse students’ initiative for all-round and free development by self-management andself-education. The main problem lies in the measures that are not dealt specifically andwell-directly. Besides, absence of subjectivity and debasing of self-value and social value has alsoinfluenced the result. Therefore, college students incentive mechanism need to be optimizedurgently.Based on Herzberg’s Two-factor Theory, this paper aims at the measures to optimize thecollege students’ incentive mechanism, borrowing the concept of job enrichment. As differentfactors need different force, the contents of mechanism should be re-designed and more choicesshould be given to students. A questionnaire for current situation is made at first to find theproblems and causes. And then factors of incentive education are classified and analyzed intomotivate factors and hygienic factors to propose series of measures respectively, combined withsome concepts with the characteristics of the times, such as harmonious university and governingthe university by law. The emphasis is to raise a complete and systematic mechanism.Analysis of college students incentive mechanism based on Two-factor Theory casts theeducator a new perspective to deal with the newly-produced problems. It also enriches theideological education with humanities and brings great importance to the healthy growth of collegestudents.
