Composition evaluation is of great significance to the thesis teaching.It is not only the assessment of the completed composition, but can also guide and promote students’ essay writing. Given the importance of composition evaluation and the current status of teaching writing in senior high, this thesis recommends the "using evaluation to promote writing" writing pedagogy. This teaching method is a method in writing, aiming to effectively improve the level of students’ writing by conducting various forms of essay evaluation activities. This teaching method focuses on the diversification of evaluation elements, which is also the basic concept of it. Choosing the elements of essay evaluation like objectives, relevance, applicability, encouragement and inspiration is a starting point and foothold. The purpose of this teaching method is to raise students" writing levels by means composition evaluation.This paper discusses the following aspects.Introduction section identifies the purpose and significance of this study, and is also an analysis of previous study of composition evaluation.The first part defines the connotation of composition evaluation in the teaching process of senior high. and meanwhile it also summarizes the "towards writing" feature of composition evaluation on the basis of the theory of philosophy, pedagogy, and psychology.The second part summarizes some common problems of the samples selected from the teachers and students of two schools by doing questionnaire researches.The third section presents the basic concepts of "using evaluation to promote writing" composition pedagogy and also the process of practicing it, the limited effect and its countermeasures. |
