Blackboard platform and Moodle platform are powerful curriculummanagement systems. Blackboard platform is digit teaching platform developedby BB Corporation in America, on which teachers can set up network courses,students can select courses and learn course content autonomously. Meanwhile,discussion and communication can be conducted among different learners orbetween teachers and learners as per teaching and learning demands. Moodle isrfee open-sourcing course management system,which can not only be applied toteach or learn online courses,but also help teacher to set up online learningcommunity, etc.Shanghai Open University is one of the four open universities in China, itsmain teaching objects are adult students and some on-the-job students. Due towork and life,learning time of these students is disperse and short,and then it’sdififcult to gather them for learning. Network learning platform can not onlysolve the limit of learning time and place, but increase learning effect validly.However, current network learning platform in Shanghai Open University needsto be improved and perfected.By setting Services Introduction,compulsory course of InformationEngineering major in Shanghai Open University as example, the thesis builds thiscourse respectively in Blackboard platform and Moodle platform. Based on dataanalysis about students’ demands and attitude towards network learning platformin Shanghai Open University, the thesis compares system management, contentresource, assessment function, online communication and evaluation function ofBlackboard platform and Moodle platform, thus obtaining future constructiondirection of network learning platform in Shanghai Open University.
