Research On Social Work Practice Under The Perspective Of System Theory

Social work is a discipline with more valuable and practical. S university positions the cultivation of master of social work for the professional master’s degree. And the specific goal is:with the "people-oriented, Helping human to help oneself, fair and just" professional values and grasping the theory and methods of social work, familiar with the social policy in our country, having the strong ability of social services, with strong social service planning, execution, supervision, evaluation and research ability, competent for different groups and the social service and social management in the field of applied senior specialized people. In such idea and goal, social work practice becomes an indispensable component of master of social work personnel training. In this paper, based on the above thinking, using the system theory as theoretical framework, referring to Viekery’s (1974) System Center Department case diagram and Pincus and Minas John’s four systems division method, the writer will summary and analysis the present situation and problems of social work practice in mainland China.This paper mainly adopts two kinds of research methods:literature method and depth interview method. In the case of referring to a lot literature, this paper will analysis the present situation and problems of social work practice in mainland China, respectively from the change of media system, director system, target system, operation system. Thus, interviewing ten2012MSW students by depth interview method. According to subjective sampling, chose ten interviewees. There are two kind of interviewees, whose major is social work and not social work when they were undergraduate. Then the paper designs two interview outline.Under the system theory perspective, mainly analyze six factors which obviously influence the social work practice:social work practice education, the supervision of the social work practice and internship students’attitude, the degree of attention of the school, internship institutions as well as the arrangement of the internship. These factors interact with each other in the practice, together acting on the present situation of social work practice. Then this paper concludes six problems. Such as, lack of education of social practice and practice source, practice content deviating practice goal, lack of enthusiasm for students、school and institution, superficial evaluation, unperfect practice system. After that, put forward the corresponding countermeasures and Suggestions, For example, strengthen the education of social work practice, change the means of supervision, making the goal clear and arranging practice, developing the campus resources and expanding the cooperation, making evaluation perfect, in order to help professional internships and applied talents cultivating.
